Move it Move it

The other day I was in Walmart with Jackson and he saw a video game for Madigascar. He has never actually seen the show but we have shown him the music video on youtube. He got really excited, "Look Mom! It's Move it Move it!" Then he burst into song at the top of his lungs "You got to move it move it, You've got to move it move it."

Bugs Bunny - Cotton Eye Joe

SO, Zane and I found this on the internet and we were both laughing so hard. I remember this song from church dances when I was a kid. Fun to dance too. I think Bugs had fun dancing to it too.

A bit of history -

"The precise origins of this song are unclear, although it predates the American Civil War.

Over the years, many different versions of the song have been performed and/or recorded with many different versions of the lyrics (and many without lyrics). Cotton-eyed Joe, on occasion referred to as "the South Texas National Anthem", was played for minstrel-type jigs, and has long been popular as a square dance hoedown and a couple dance polka. During the first half of the twentieth century the song was a widely known folk song all over English-speaking North America. One Discography lists 134 recorded versions released since 1950. In more recent decades, the song has waned in popularity in most regions except some parts of the American South where it is still a popular folk song."

My New Philosophy

Your A Good Man Charlie Brown - truely a Brodway masterpiece. This has always been my favorite piece from the show! Lucy explains her dismay at her report card. Yes, I have belted this song at the top of my lungs many times! It is not only fun to watch and listen too, it is also extreemly fun to sing. As a matter of fact, now that it is on my blog, I think I will sing it again!

Mahna Mahna

On a lighter note this is Jackson's new favorite. We stumbled accross this the other day and he loves it. "They are silly!" He says with a giggle. I have to agree, yes they are. I have to admit I have watched it a couple times myself just to give me a smile. So I thought I would at it to my growing collection of songs. It truely is a timeless Muppet Masterpice.
